All Things Boston

Well, I must admit, I've been missing M a lot recently. Since he up and left for Boston earlier this week, I can't help but notice anything and everything Boston. Today I got up and checked my email, only to find that DailyCandy Boston had an article on a new cupcake bakery, SWEET, located in Back Bay. I've already shot M and email telling him to go scout out this new delicacy!

The space was designed by Boston up and coming designer, Annsely McAleer, voted one of Domino Magazine's top 10 designers last year. I have yet to see images of the interior, but I'll have M take photos when he stops in for a cupcake.

Remember the Swan Boats? I jokingly told M that when I come visit I'll be riding them every day. I went to the website and found out that it only costs $2.75 per ride. What a deal! I really may go for a daily ride! If I can't ride the Swan Boats each day, I'll atleast try and watercolor in the Public Gardens each day that I'm there. I can't wait!

New and Inspiring

Welcome to 2008; so many new and inspiring things await this year. I can just feel it. I received my new PotteryBarn catalog in the mail today. This season's colors seem so fresh and cheerful. The new (and final) Blueprint magazine also came today. I can't wait to sit and read.
This morning it snowed a little bit. Just a little, but enough to put me in a cozy mood. I plan on curling up on the couch and watching a movie or some mindless television. May I recommend that you do the same.
Have a nice afternoon.

Holiday Music

Why is it that the happiest time of the year can also bring about some of the best sad music? Two of my favorite songs, River and Wintersong, just make me want to cry, and yet I love them. Maybe its something about the peace that I find in each song. They're almost like winter lullabies.

The semester is almost finished and I'm just about ready to go home and relax for a while. Family time is much needed. I'm just about burned out.

Tonight I'm heading over to a good friend's house for enchiladas and her daughter's Christmas chorus production. I'm looking forward to the Christmas spirit in those kid's voices.

Have a wonderful evening and try and find the peace that is hidden in this busy holiday season.

Oh my.

It has been nearly 3 months since I last posted. I guess school has gotten busy. Thank goodness I only have one more semester to go. I was finishing up a project for my studio class and realized that its stupid that I put all my watercolor renderings in a folder to sit and gather dust. I have very little original artwork right now, so I might as well use these for now... they're free after all. Here's a look at what watercolors I've been doing this semester. Enjoy.

Driving tunes

The first time I heard Regina Spektor's song "Fidelity" was one Friday afternoon late last fall on my way to Charlottesville. The radio had just released her song and I was in love. The song could not have been more perfect for the drive, not so much a focus on the lyrics, but on the way her voice ups and downs like the hills. Kind of like the anticipation of seeing Michael, her voice made me a happy driver. Just like every visit, I couldn't wait to see him... and listen to the song just one more time. Every time my ipod shuffles to this song, I smile.
