Organization Delights!

I found these labels on Wedding Style Guide's website while looking for DIY wedding ideas a few months ago. I saved them as a PDF on my computer, and almost forgot about them until today. When I saved the labels on my computer, I thought they'd be great for wedding ideas and bits and pieces of fabric floating throughout my wedding binder.

I rediscovered the labels today and the first thing that came to mind was using them for all my design magazine tearouts. Often I forget what magazine they come from, or, when I'm looking through my binder weeks later, why I really pulled the magazine page out. Now I can write a little note on the page addressing my original interest, where image came from, and when I found it. This would be awsome for blogging ideas too. I bet there's a way to photoshop these on to digital images for my computer files full of photos.

I bought Avery adhesive Shipping Label printable paper (#8165) from Office Depot and printed these labels on it . The paper is nice and thick and prevents color from showing through. I will warn you, the Avery paper was a bit pricey. The label sheet has a lot of negative space, so I may have to rework them using InDesign, but the overall concept is great and EASY!

Market Street - Wine Shop and Grocery

I'm eager to stop in to this quaint little wine shop and grocery. It looks as thought its opening soon. I'll be checking for more information each time I drive past.

New Home

We recently moved to a new apartment. Its was once an old transfer station and loading dock for the neighboring railway (it runs right next to the building; trains pass by multiple times each day), but now its the most amazing apartment community. I think the architect did a wonderful job mixing old and new.

I will admit that I had a hard time adjusting to our new place, until our furniture arrived. As I'm personalizing the space, I find that its more and more me. Its not the same as our last apartment, but its unique in its own ways. Clay tiles line the exterior of the building and extend along the southern wall of our space. The metal and glass windowpanes mixed with the handmade clay tiles add a historic feel to an otherwise updated apartment.

The place is still being unpacked, so for now I'll leave you with a few photos of the exterior and neighboring barn. Enjoy, and expect more photos soon!

Love this Flatware! Super cute, but is it dishwasher safe? Also have my eyes on some of their paper products! Can't wait to walk downtown to their shop and check out what other products they sell.

Mad about Orange

I'm absolutely mad about orange as an accent right now. Who knows when this interest started, but I guess I really caught on when I found a beautiful set of pillows at Pottery Barn with Rachael a few weeks ago.

The pattern: Tea Garden Toile. I loved them, but decided against purchasing them at the time because I was afraid M might think I was a little out of my mind. I could hear him thinking "Little dancing men with parasols?!?" I know, I know. It is a bit much, but I love love love them. So last Monday evening, after lots of thought, I did it. I ordered them online. They arrived on Friday, and I couldn't be happier. Now I just need... a new set of sheets, bedskirt, headboard, mattress, and beautitful duvet. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all...

While thinking about all this orange, I realized that many of the photos I adore have hints of orange. It seems to give that burst of energy that we all need right now!

Watercolors

I've been watercoloring again. Its nice to relax every evening by working on a little sketch or two. I've seen this loose watercolor floral print style around a lot recently and I'm in love with it, so I attempted to give it some of my own personality tonight.
