Another option for Bar Carts
Bar carts seem to be showing up everywhere these days on blogs and in magazines. While working on another project, I stumbled upon this bar cart from Urban Outfitters. Nice and rustic. It kind of reminds me of Restoration Hardware's "look" right now.

Dahlias, dahling
Wouldn't a grouping of 9, 12, or 18 of these John Derian platters look lovely hanging on a wall? Perhaps in my future office... light blue walls, creamy white trim, lots of grasscloth... one day when I hit the jackpot and have $122,348,583,456,072 + to spend on my wall art and accessories. But a girl can dream, right?!
UPDATE:
Just had to show you how great it could look to repeat the John Derian platters x 15. For the sake of time, the room is very sparse. Not to worry though, the essentials are in there. John Derian platters, Oly Studio Hanna Sofa, hardwood floors, chunky moulding and blue walls. Thank goodness for Sketchup and Photoshop!
I did the math and its not as much as I initially thought. Oh, and I added in the Hanna Sofa from Oly Studio. Only $9670 plus tax.
Now I just need to figure out how to do this on a BUDGET!

Summer Movies
I can't wait to see the movie I Am Love.
Tilda Swinton + Fabulous Fashion + Beautiful Scenery = hopefully a wonderful summer movie.

Summer Reading: Starting Over
Last summer I purchased this book:
I loved it.... well, what I read of it. I still haven't finished it. That's embarrassing. Especially considering that I was three quarters of the way done. Work was crazy last summer. We were in the midst of a big move and the start of a new marketing plan. Somehow my copy of the book is worn and tattered. If you looked at it, you would think I read it and reread it. I think it just got tossed around in the work bag a little too often. I'm not sure why I didn't finish it in the fall (or the winter, or this spring) but I didn't.
So anyways, its a new summer and I think The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry deserves another chance. A fresh start. So I'm back to reading it from the beginning.
Any other favorite summer reading books? What books are in your beach bag?

Cute little Jewelry Box
What a cute little jewelry box. Not very practical for me though, considering the price. I'd probably need about 10 of these though to hold all my jewelry. But still, I love the lacquer!

What is yellow and white and striped all over?
Have you ever seen a cuter pair of candles? Fivestripes, the manufacturer of Ana Candles, has sent me one pair of Chiffon and Daffodil tapered candles from their Pageant collection to give away to one lucky reader! The lemon-y fresh color combination is a great way to spruce up your table, mantle or patio for a summer party. Oh, and the packaging is almost as lovely as the candles themselves! I can't seem to get enough of all these stripes!
Ana Candles come in so many great colorways. Take a look at just some of the options in the Bright and Springy collection below.
They have been featured in House Beautiful, Country Living, Ladies Home Journal, Traditional Home... they're showing up everywhere and we love them!
More details, more details...
"Ana’s Striped Candles first shipped out to customers in 1994, and we proudly remain the leader in the stripe design we created. The original Striped Taper was designed by the company’s founder Frank Weeden and was the first of its kind, transforming a common household necessity into a sensuous canvass of alternating color. Sometimes, the simplest ideas produce the most extraordinary results…
The perfect symmetry, smooth finish, and deep richness of our inlaid stripes make Ana Candles everything they are today. Each season, sumptuous new palettes are selected to reflect the latest trends and delight candle lovers around the world. Ana Candles are truly a design classic and the perfect choice for decorating, celebrating, and gift giving."
